During the residency season we have invited to three "open studio" events.
On the May 4-5 KuBa:kulturbahnhof took part in the regional programm
"Offene Ateliers in der Prignitz/Open ateliers in the Prignitz", an
established cultural event in the area.
We took this as an opportunity to present the work of the first
KuBa- Artists in Residence:
Aya Zamir, Yuli Zakai, Gaya Kolmann, Jennifer Bennett & Colin Ginks.
As an extension of the program we have intoduced the "Red House", a side
building on the station grounds as a new gallery and art space with
works of Uri Levinsson, Adaya Godlevsky, Alona Harpaz, Jonas Kammerer, Angus
Massey, Daphna Saker, Sharon Horodi, Cheb* Mika Kammerer, Keren Shalev
and Katja Anzelwsky.
We were delighted with the great support of the inhabitants of Klein
Warnow and our friends (many of whom came specially from Berlin) to
celebrate this opening with us.
The second open studio took place on a sunny weekend in June with works
of KuBa- Artists in Residence: Zhuyu, Nana Sawada and Elliott Haigh.
Special thanks go to Silke Tobeler, who runs the blog female gaze and
and has dedicated a whole article to her visit in KuBa:kulturbahnhof
female-gaze-visits-kuba.
On a wonderful summer day on August 31 we showed works by Helen Lee,
Tohar Lev Jacobson and Irina Wainstein in the studios. Throughout the
day, performances took place inside and outside.
The artists and the audience came from many different countries.
This day was a celebration of diversity!
Thanks to all artists and friends and strangers who came to visit us and
have made Kuba:kulturbahnhof a place of exchange, of creativity, of
inspiration - a place of motion & emotion.
